Five workshops offering beginners and more established writers opportunities to explore poetry written by bards and makars of Northern Scotland, and selections from Stonehaven Library’s book and archive collections to stimulate and inspire writing their own poems. Practicing writing exercises and techniques with an experienced tutor and guest poets, new and more experienced poets are invited to increase their confidence in developing and sharing their work.

We invite you to book for all five workshops, each is designed to develop themes covered in previous sessions. Participants over the age of fourteen are welcome, all those under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
