Five acclaimed poets hailing from the North and Northeast of Scotland will gather to share poems and songs at ‘A Wee Gaitherin’ in Inverness Library on Thursday 29 May, from 5.30pm – 7pm.

Brian Hill, Cáit O’Neill McCullagh, Lesley Benzie, Lilian Ross, and Lynsey Gilmour will be

performing from their published works and fresh compositions, written across the languages of Scots, Gaelic and English, as part of this celebration arranged to accompany the installation of The Wee Gaitherin Heritage Exhibition.

The exhibition, on display at the library from 20 May – 17 June, promotes the long and rich written cultural heritage of Scotland’s Northeast, and its wider environment of Northern Scotland. Borne out of workshops and activities coordinated as part of The Wee Gaitherin Poetry Festival and Festival Fringe in Stonehaven, the exhibition also includes original work by contemporary poets of National renown.

Lesley, Brian, Lynsey, Cáit and Lilian are looking forward to also taking time to chat with their audience, and will be signing copies of their books and compact disks too. For sales, they request cash payments only, please. This event is free. Contact Inverness Library for more information on 01349 781370, and see
