Thanks to all the wonderful poets who applied to perform at The Wee Gaitherin 2026. We were overwhelmed by the amazing response, the largest we've ever had!

While we had the greatest number of applicants ever, unfortunately, in common with many other charities in the current economic climate, we are also putting the festival together with the smallest amount of funding ever and are still awaiting the outcome of some funding applications. This has meant some tough decisions, such as significantly cutting the number of performers we can offer a place to - so if you are unsuccessful, please know that the competition was even tougher than usual!

Meanwhile, our hard-working volunteer trustees are currently finalising their selection but there may be a delay on our stated date of 4^th June, in letting you know an outcome. We will, however, be contacting all applicants within the next 2 weeks, and look forward to welcoming a bevy of poets to Stonehaven in September!
