Julie McNeill

Julie McNeill authored We Are Scottish Football (Luath Press 2024), Something Small (Drunk Muse Press 2023) and Children’s nonfiction Mission Dyslexia (JKP Books 2022). She is co-editor of A Most Unsuitable Game (Tippermuir Press 2024), exploring the history of Scottish women’s football. Forthcoming in 2025 is her new

collection, Love Goes North.


She has performed her work widely and has been commissioned by the Scottish Poetry Library to design Poetry Unwrapped, inspiring young neurodiverse writers. She is part of the editorial team at Drunk Muse Press and The Poets’ Republic magazine and a trustee of The Wee Gaitherin Poetry Festival. Her poem ‘War’ was named one of the 2023 best Scottish Poems. Julie is the Poet-in-residence for St Mirren FC charitable trust and Gaffer of the Hampden Collection. She has won or been placed in The Burrell Collection Hidden Gems Poetry Prize, Bold Types Poetry Prize and Snack Magazine/ Nutmeg Football Poetry Prize.
